About Game - Alphabet War
Alphabet War is an arcade shooter you can play free in the browser. Letter monsters fall from the top of a checkered field. You sit on the dashed line, shoot them before they drop, and they burst into confetti. Between bursts, CHOOSE AN ABILITY can swap your cannon for a laser barrage, add number helpers, or drop obstacles. The hub is a purple TV that says TAP TO START, with gold, diamonds, a shop, and a GAME OVER chest when the run ends.
How to Play - Alphabet War
Your first run is one field: tap the TV, shoot the falling letters, and keep them above the dashed line.
- 1Tap TAP TO START — The hub is a yellow checkered room and a purple TV showing letter faces (green A, blue B, and others). Gold such as 5800 and diamonds such as 3 sit on the top bar with + buttons. A cart is the shop, a gear is settings, and a red double-arrow with a dot is the upgrade entry.
- 2Stand on the dashed line — You start as one orange letter-shaped shooter at the bottom. A white dashed line sits just above you. Pause is top left. HI-SCORES and SCORES sit top right (HI-SCORES can already read 3690 while SCORES is still 40).
- 3Shoot the falling letters — Green A, blue B, purple C, and later S, F, G drop from the top. Yellow round shots go up. Hits burst into red, blue, yellow, and green confetti.
- 4Do not let them fall — The rule is to stop letter monsters before they pass the dashed line. Early SCORES climb in tens (10, 40) while the letters are still sparse.
- 5CHOOSE AN ABILITY when the card appears — A black bar reads CHOOSE AN ABILITY. One visible card is Switch the attached cannon to laser barrage, with a red cannon firing a blue beam. Other picks, from the same upgrade flow, can upgrade or swap helpers, change ammo, or place obstacles.
- 6Grow the bottom row — After picks you can see a green + helper, a green 2, a purple 4, then later a purple 6 and a beige 5 with small red pods. Red thumbtacks on grey bases sit in the lane as obstacles. The bottom-right sword-and-wings button is a skill; a green ring can fill around it.
- 7COLLECT on GAME OVER — GAME OVER shows NEW RECORD 3690 with +4800 gold and +3 diamonds. COLLECT takes the drop. EXTRA REWARD (clapper and gift) can ask for an ad. The top bar still shows gold and diamonds with +.
Core gameplay
Each run is a vertical shoot: letters fall, you fire from the dashed line, and CHOOSE AN ABILITY grows the bottom row between bursts.
Shoot falling letter monsters
Letters drop on a diamond-check field. You stay at the bottom and fire up. A, B, C, S, F, G and other faces are the targets. The dashed line is the hold. Letting them through ends the run.
Confetti when they pop
A hit does not just delete the letter. It bursts into a gift-box spray of colored ribbons. Early shots are yellow coins or dots. Later streams include blue squares, yellow stars, and hollow rings.
CHOOSE AN ABILITY
The overlay pauses the field. Switch the attached cannon to laser barrage is one card. The same upgrade step can also change helpers, ammo, or obstacles. You pick one and the bottom row changes — plus signs, digits such as 2 and 4, then 5 and 6.
Helpers, ammo, obstacles
Helpers are the extra faces on your line. Ammo is the shot type (cannon to laser barrage). Obstacles include red thumbtacks on pedestals in the middle of the field, so letters have something to catch on besides your shots.
Gold, diamonds, shop, GAME OVER
The TV hub tracks gold and diamonds. Shop and the red upgrade arrow sit next to settings. GAME OVER pays a chest: NEW RECORD 3690 paid 4800 gold and 3 diamonds. COLLECT is the free take; EXTRA REWARD is the ad bonus.
Look and setting
Alphabet War is a bright cartoon arcade: a yellow checkered TV room on the hub, then a diamond-grid field of googly-eyed letters and numbers.
The TAP TO START TV
A purple CRT with antennae sits on yellow diamonds. Inside: a green A with antennae, a blue B, a purple letter behind, and a large orange letter in front. TAP TO START is in white outline on the glass.
Letters, numbers, confetti
Falling letters have big eyes and teeth. Your first shooter is a square orange face. Later the line is + / 2 / 4 or 6 and 5 with red side pods. Pops spray confetti. Later fields go pink with diagonal stripes and dark pegboard edges.
Reading the HUD
Hub: gold, diamonds, shop cart, gear, red upgrade arrows. In a run: pause, HI-SCORES, SCORES, a dashed line, and a sword-and-wings skill on the bottom right. GAME OVER is a purple splash with COLLECT in blue and EXTRA REWARD in green.
Tips
Early GAME OVERs come from watching SCORES while a letter slips the dashed line, or skipping an ability that would have filled the bottom row.
The dashed line is the hold
HI-SCORES 3690 does not save a letter that is already past the white dashes. Stay under the pack and shoot the lowest face first.
Read CHOOSE AN ABILITY before you tap
Laser barrage is a shot swap. If the field is already crowded, a helper or a thumbtack obstacle can matter more than a prettier beam. You get one card at a time from that overlay.
Use the sword-and-wings skill when the ring fills
The bottom-right circle is not decoration. On later fields the green ring fills while 5 and 6 are already firing. Tap it when the top is stacked with C and G.
COLLECT is free; EXTRA REWARD is an ad
GAME OVER already shows the gold and diamond totals. COLLECT takes them. EXTRA REWARD has a clapper icon — watch only if you want the extra chest.
Shop and the red arrows are between runs
Gold and diamonds on the TV are for the cart and the upgrade entry with the notification dot. Do not spend the run tapping those; TAP TO START is the fight.
